Leadership Carroll

Leadership Carroll, a flagship program of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, is designed to provide local business leaders with a unique opportunity to experience the many facets of Carroll County, preparing them for the challenges of tomorrow.

The program educates and prepares existing and emerging leaders committed to shaping our community’s future.  Participants experience an eight-month program with day-long sessions on leadership styles, community assets and economic development, the arts and tourism, healthcare, public safety, education and talent development, agribusiness, effective team building, and more.  Leadership Carroll challenges participants to become involved in Carroll County and pursue leadership roles.

For 30 years, Leadership Carroll has cultivated leaders through community engagement, exploration, and professional development.  Many of the over 700 Leadership Carroll graduates have taken their place as leaders in the community.

Junior Chamber

The Carroll County Junior Chamber of Commerce is designed to build strong leadership skills in participating high school students and develop community awareness and concern for the future of Carroll County.  The program is in cooperation with the seven high schools (Bowdon, Carrollton, Central, Mt. Zion, Oak Mountain, Temple, and Villa Rica) to provide a unique opportunity to twenty-eight students beginning their junior year of high school.  The students, who are emerging leaders in their schools and the community, are chosen by high school administrators to take part in this program based on their academic performance, attendance, and leadership potential.

The students participate in a one-day per month program from September to April in which they are learning, engaging, and participating in group activities on subject such as understanding leadership, business etiquette, communications, team building, appreciating difference, managing conflict, setting goals, community asset mapping, and community service.

The program follows the Youth Leadership in Action curriculum of the UGA J.W. Fanning Institute.

Emerging Leaders

Under Construction

Specifically designed for early to mid-career professionals, the Emerging Leaders program provides an opportunity to network and hear from leaders in our community on topics that will influence them within the workplace.

The program broadens participant knowledge of the community, enhances leadership skills, and builds strong leaders who will impact Carroll County and beyond.  Participants will meet monthly for networking and educational sessions on various topics, including leadership, relationship building, communication, and community collaboration.
